New York City Photo Sessions for Movie Lovers

One of my favorite things about living in New York City is how often it feels like I’ve stepped straight into a movie. There are days when I turn a corner see a brownstone all covered in ivy, and suddenly it’s like I’m in You've Got Mail. I see it in the eyes of tourists too—New York doesn’t just look like the movies, it feels like one.

New York City Photo Sessions for Movie Lovers

That’s what inspired me to create New York City photo sessions for movie lovers—for anyone who wants their memories to feel like stills from a film. Whether you’re visiting for the weekend, celebrating an engagement, or simply craving a few photos that feel more cinematic than posed, this experience is for you. And we will literally take photos and create a little short film for you!

As a photographer, I’m not just here to click the shutter. I want to be your photographer, your director, your cinematographer. I want your session to feel like a mini production—but with none of the pressure and all of the fun.

Yes, we’re telling your story. But I’d argue we’re telling a heightened version of that story—the way movies do. The version where the chemistry is effortless, the lighting is romantic, and the world kind of melts away. And if you're thinking-- I'm too awkward for that. I'd love to let you know that I'm here with an incredibly disarming personality, ready to help you relax and have fun. I'm great at helping you experience your photoshoot just as much as I am at helping you pose when needed.

🎬 What a Cinematic Session Looks Like

  • A couple walking hand‑in‑hand through a quiet West Village street at golden hour

  • Someone sipping coffee at their favorite Brooklyn café while writing in a journal because that's what they do every Saturday

  • A solo client picking out flowers from a local bodega, soft music playing in their earbuds

  • Two lovers laughing over dessert while flash photos make it look like a paparazzi moment

Characters in movies don’t know they’re being filmed—they’re fully present with each other. I prompt my clients to do the same: connect with one another, connect with themselves, and forget about the camera. I’ll take care of the rest.

I also offer short film options in addition to photos, so you leave with something even more complete. A visual story. A montage of your love, your joy, your time in New York.

🎨 Three Signature Styles I Deliver

Because I’m an artist, I believe your gallery should feel as varied and alive as a film’s wardrobe and set design—never just one look. When I deliver your session, you’ll receive:

  1. A Timeless Series Clean, classic edits you’ll connect with years from now—think soft contrast and understated warmth, like a black‑and‑white film still that never goes out of style.

  2. A “Looks Like Film” Series Digital images edited to emulate vintage stock: gentle grain, muted colors, and that organic imperfection that makes film so evocative (inspired by my love of Severance’s Gemma episode and Joe Wright’s Pride and Prejudice director’s cut).

  3. An Artistic / Trendy Series Funky, experimental frames—lens flares, bold compositions, moody color shifts—perfect for clients who want something a little out‑of‑the‑box and editorial.

Before your session, I’ll ask: What’s your favorite cinematic moment? A shot that moved you in a film or TV show. Tell me about that scene—maybe it’s the neon diner in DareDevil or Darcy's rainy confession of love in Pride and Prejudice. I’ll use that as creative fuel to shape your photo story.

🚶‍♀️ A Cinematic Photo Session Might Include

  • Visiting your favorite NYC café or bookstore

  • Walking through Central Park or your favorite neighborhood

  • Dancing in a crosswalk like you’re in an 80's rom‑com

  • Shopping for flowers, reading in the sun, or trying on outfits in SoHo

  • Being directed like an actor, with space to improvise and be yourself

What do you think? Are you ready to elevate your average NYC photo session to the cinematic level?
