FAQS

Do you live in New York City? Are you experienced with taking photos in the city?

Yes! I live on the Upper West Side in Manhattan! Over the past six years, I’ve photographed lifestyle/wedding/editorial sessions in NYC, on rooftops, in city streets, inside dark venues, in cute brownstones, and at the sun shiniest times of day in the Park. It takes a versatile photographer to really know how to work with a variety of different lights and city situations. I’ve got the knowledge and expertise to know how to get fantastic photos, how to get around, and when the best times are to do things. You can trust my experience.

Do you offer film photography?

Yes! I do! I include your film photos in your digital album. For couples sessions, you can pay for a roll of film and for weddings, you can add on a few rolls of film to your package.

Do you offer video?

I have a Short Film option couples can add onto their packages. The short film is made by me during the in between moments of your photo session or wedding. My photography is reserved for the most important moments and my video is reserved for candid moments.

I have a videographer I team up with, Matt from MattCamera Weddings, and he is lovely. He is great at being both hands on or more documentary depending on what you need. He offers both videography and Super8 services that start at $3500 for small weddings. The pricing is even lower for just one hour couples sessions. We’ve worked together and make a great creative team.

How many photos will I receive per hour?

The amount of photos you receive per hour depends on the package you book. 50-70 an hour is my average.

Our venue is dark/our photo session or wedding is at night, will the photos look okay?

If your venue is on the darker side, I will bring a flash. I take punchy Old Hollywood flash photos for some occasions while using a diffuser to soften the light for other occasions. Or a mix of both. If you hate having a flash, let’s discuss if there are any alternative options and what your lighting will look like at your venue.

If you want a very specific vibey look with extra funky lighting, let's discuss this-- I have a lot of really fun lights we can work with!

For weddings, Do you offer officiant services or know an Officiant? Do you offer a Day of Coordinator?

If you want a very intentional and personalized ceremony, I have a handful of officiants I can recommend, both religious and non-religious. I also know many a Day of Coordinator and would be happy to connect you with them! Sometimes it’s nice to have an extra set of hands on the day of!

Are albums and prints included in each price?

The only physical prints I offer are the Instax Photos I take on your wedding day. Your digital gallery will include options to print and organize albums. The gallery printing and album making is very user friendly.

Can we legally elope in NYC if we don’t live in New York?

Yes! Any couple, including international couples and out-of-state visitors, are able to elope in NYC. For more information go to https://www.cityclerk.nyc.gov/content/marriage-license

What happens if Stacie gets sick or cannot photograph our session or wedding? What happens if we get sick or something “unprecedented” happens?

I know, we have become too familiar with the word “unprecedented”. While this has never happened and I take the utmost care to stay well before your wedding, if I get sick, I will let you know as quickly as possible and arrange for another professional photographer to take your wedding photos. Choosing this photographer will be a conversation between you and I and they will photograph your wedding on my behalf and I will edit your wedding. You can also choose to find another wedding photographer via your contract. If your wedding is impacted by an illness or pandemic (including you or your fiance(e) getting sick, state or country borders being closed, or government-mandated shutdown), you can transfer your event to another mutually available date within six months of your original date, penalty-free.

If you have a couples session scheduled while you're in NYC, most times we can pivot and photograph your session on a different date if someone gets sick.

Do you have any favorite Locations to get married in NYC? Will you help us scout locations for our photo session or wedding?

There are so many fancy shmancy spots, affordable spots, or free spots in NY! It depends on what you are needing! Some of my favorites Brooklyn Bridge Park, Central Park, and sooo many indoor venues. We can discuss this further based on what you envision for your Photo Session and what you are hoping to capture in your photos. Some may prefer a secluded private location with minimal traffic, while others may prefer a crowded cityscape. We can discuss the right place for your vision.

Will you send me the RAW files of my photos?

The main reason my clients work with me is because of my shooting style, editing aesthetic, and general persona. Your trust in me to pick the best photos of your session is what makes our relationship as photographer and wedding couple so special. For that reason, I do not give RAWS.

Can I ask for Re-edits of specific photos?

Of course. I charge $10 per re-edited photo. The first 10 re-edits are free, but any after that I charge for.

How do I get an NYC Marriage license?

Hit up Project Cupid on the NYC government website for all details. https://www.cityclerk.nyc.gov/content/marriage-license

What It’s Like Working With Stacie?

Many couples tell me I feel like a longtime friend they’ve known forever. While I am your vendor, I am also a human whose goal is to celebrate you well, create a fun, chill, and disarming environment for photography, and you will always hear me advocating for your wedding or session your way. For weddings, I will love your guests like they are my own family and cherish them the way you do. I treat you the way I was treated on my own wedding day-- with fun energy and care.

Do you take on clients with mid-size to larger weddings?

While my specialty is in intimate weddings and New York City elopements, I started out my career photographing big Texas weddings! So, Yes I do! I’m a big fan of big parties celebrating your love! I do not charge based on amount of guests, I charge based on the amount of time you want to book me for. The more the merrier.

Are you able to record or livestream the ceremony for family and friends who can’t make it?

I am unable to offer my photography services while also adding on a zoom component.

Are you insured?

Yes! I have both liability and equipment insurance. If we are taking photos at a venue, your event venue might require a Certificate of Insurance from me and I am happy to give them what they need!

Are you vaccinated?

Yes.

What kind of camera equipment do you use?

Photos are taken with a Cannon 5d mark iv, Canon 5d mark iii, Canon R5 mirrorless with 35mm, 50mm, 85mm, and 20-70mm lenses. For darker indoor moments, I use a Godox speed light flash that can be both harsh and muted depending on the mood and moment. I have four tube lights I can bring to light up reception areas or dark dressing rooms. I always bring extra memory cards and an extra camera just in case any equipment ever has an accident or unforeseen failure. I also use PrismFX lenses to give some of your photos a certain type of mood and vibe. I have several lights I can set up if we need extra lighting in ceremony or reception spaces. I also have three film cameras: two vintage 35 mm Canon cameras (one from the 1970's and one from the 1990's) and one Lomography film 35 mm film camera.

Cancelling/Weather for Elopements: Schedule your elopement session closer to the beginning of your NYC visit just in case we have to reschedule because of weather. I’ll reach out if weather is looking problematic 24 hrs. before our session. Weddings can be rescheduled per Stacie’s contract, but a 50% non-refundable deposit is required to make your wedding time and date official on Stacie’s calendar.
